Head Start for Young Children

Sumter County Head Start serves children prenatal to age five in families earning income at or below the federal poverty level. It includes Head Start for children ages three and four and Early Head Start for children prenatal to age three, pregnant women, and their families. Services are federally funded with 80% from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and 20% from local sources.
